Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar the history of Oscars. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress portraying the bright and curious girl who played Holly Hunter's main role on the film The Piano. After responding to a call for auditions, she was able to audition when she was nine years old, with no prior experience acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath part. Flora is the daughter of the Scottish musician who was blind. The couple relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to arrange a marriage. When she was in her teens, the actress made the move to America. Paquin played Jane Eyre's main character when she was an teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the main role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played in the role of polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
